IVF in China Step by Step

From first enquiry to returning home after a cycle, the pathway runs in eight steps. Timings below are typical references; the hospital’s schedule governs.

The eight steps

  1. 01Register & organize records (1–2 weeks): submit the enquiry form; organize age, treatment history, reports and your question list
  2. 02Match & consult online: request a named specialist or case-based recommendations; a paid online consultation is arranged after agreement
  3. 03Confirm hospital eligibility: admission requirements, documents (passports, proof of marriage with translation/authentication) and record preparation
  4. 04Visa & invitation letter (1–4 weeks depending on nationality): we help organize documents and coordinate a medical invitation; authorities decide issuance and entry
  5. 05Flights, transfers & stays: coordinated around the treatment schedule, with flexibility for return visits
  6. 06Arrival & one-to-one liaison: hospital reception, specialist appointments, accompaniment and interpretation confirmed in advance
  7. 07Dedicated coordination during treatment (a stimulation cycle typically means ~3–5 weeks in China): we connect schedules and logistics; clinicians remain responsible for all medical decisions
  8. 08Return travel & follow-up: review visits, return travel and necessary remote communication

Document checklist

  • Both spouses’ passports
  • Proof of marriage (with translation/notarization/authentication per the hospital’s requirements)
  • Previous stimulation, retrieval and transfer records; fertilization, culture and embryo reports
  • Recent test reports and medication list

FAQ

How many trips to China does the process take?

Usually one or two: some clients make a short first visit for consultation and return later for treatment; others complete stimulation through transfer in one stay. It depends on the plan and your schedule.

How long do I need to stay in China?

A fresh stimulation cycle typically requires about 3–5 weeks; with frozen embryo transfer the stay can split into two shorter trips. Your clinician’s protocol governs.

Can I start online before deciding to travel?

Yes. Share your questions and history first; any specialist consultation, fee and appointment is agreed separately in writing before anything is booked.
